Shop at My Store
1. I'd like to be able to sort the items I'm selling better...

Example: I have a TON of Ditko books, going back to the '50s. I drop them all on my DITKO shelf, but as with any shelf, I may miss a few. It would be cool to check and make sure on the ITEMS I'M SELLING tab.

2. Also in this tab, I would like to be able to see if I am the ONLY dealer selling a particular issue. If I knew that, it might help me feature it in my ad, or price it to sell. It helps me on Amazon, and you can also see if your item is the lowest price for that conditionas well.

3. I've said this recently in another post, but the front page for every store looks stale... I HATE having the same books there everytime. Who cares how many issues of '52' or '2001' everybody has! It makes every store look the same. It would be MAJOR to be able to control this, the same way you would a shelf.

4. I also agree about the PRICE GUIDE. Overstreet, combined with the metrics you have in the market stats here could very well bring CCL a pretty accurate representation of what will sell.
I understand that this is in the works, and it would be KOOL!

I could go on all day, but these are the top 4 for me. I wish I was there to vote on the poll, but I was away.

Well, I don't own a Mac but sympathize with there struggle. I agree with the above post that concerns Invalids and what Griff, Scott, and Jason said.

Just a thought, obviously not a lot of Mac people are actually going to be voting in this since they probably aren't hovering around the site waiting for a Mac version (myself being the exception). Point being, it's not really going to be accurate to poll a bunch of Windows users about a Mac version.

Hope that is kept in mind in regards to priorities, I really think a Mac/site version will draw in a whole new crowd.

#1 fully agree! Mac Mac Mac, I don't come to this site much just check in every few months to google which programs have gone to mac. So far only two and not the best ones.

#2 Pricing, I like what I read about a price level. Half.com has one when you put a item up for sale it tells you the going average rates.

#3 Mac.

#4. Really you don't know how many of us Mac peeps are out here and Macs are growing more every day. You have apps for them here.

So to sum up, Mac, price guide, Mac and Mac.

Thank you

Results coming soon. We talked about these in the last approver and member town halls.

This week, we've began the "GREAT PURGE" of removing INVALIDS from CCL on a programming level. Working more on this to clean CCL's data up, and then onto some software programming.

About a Mac software. There is a great program called Bookpedia from Bruji.com and all they need is a database. I know it is hard for people to work together, but sharing a large pie is better then not getting any pie.

Or think about it this way, if you guys got together, you can spend more time doing what you do well and work on this site while they get the headaches of dealing with such an Awesome!.... I mean hard to work with system like Mac OS.

Here is the forum for this same discussion there:

I'd like to add my voice to those asking for a way to hide/ignore variants. As a collector, I really don't care about UK Price variants and such, and the mandatory inclusion of these categories just clutters things unneccessarily for me, especially on my Gap Report and Wish List. Taking out each of those rows by hand, especially on long runs, is time consuming, and ultimately makes an otherwise excellent piece of software largely unusable for me. I'd like more flexibility in what the software displays and what it doesn't, and a simple toggle to hide/ignore variants would be very helpful.

I's also like the ability to hide or ignore certain segments of a run of titles. For example, I'm putting together a run of AVENGERS (First Series) #1-200. I really don't care about issues #201-up at this point, and would like a way to just ignore those issue numbers when printing reports. In other words, a way to customize runs would be a big help.

Thanks,

John

You can already hide any issue you want. Just right click on the issue and look at the bottom of the context menu. You can turn off issues one at a time or bring up a window where you can check off the issues you wish to hide or display. Once an issue is hidden, you'll never see it in other views or reports.

The idea of "hiding all variants" is problematic. Clearly, you don't want to hide *all* of the variants for a particular issue since that would hide every version of the issue, including the one that you're actually interested in. So you'd have to have a way of picking out which is the "interesting" variant. Is it the A cover? What about books that shipped with multiple covers in equal distribution? The A and B covers may be equally common. A collector who "doesn't care about variants" would suddenly not be able to find the book they pick up off the shelf.

I recently found this feature, and I LOVE it. I do think it could use some tweeking, tho. I think there needs to be a checkable box or something, that either continues to add books to a title or not.

For example, I picked up a couple issues of Grimm Fairy Tales, because there was a story I liked, and a couple covers that I liked. I removed all other folders from GFT except the few I own. I have no interest in having additional issues of GFT added to my DB every month, but every month I have to go through and remove more folder.

Additionally, whenever a variant is added to the DB, such as a UK or Canadian Price Variant, or some silly DF version of a book, it pops up in my DB, and I once again have to go back and remove that folder.

Thanks for the reply. That does seem to work rather well, and has resulted in a much better user experience for me. All in all, I really like this platform, and am anxious to see how it works on my iPhone, as I'd love to be able to carry around - and update - my list of needed comics.

It would be nice if pictures under the section 'personal' would show in 'image view' to replace the standard CCL pic when there is no picture available... for what reason ever.

To clarify the post above:
Under 'Collected' 'All collected' - 'Inventory View' you edit a comic and upload a new cover into the 'Image 1' slot.
Result: Now you see the cover image you uploaded in the comic info window on the right under the 'Main' tab and the 'Personal Tab'.

Now switch directly to 'Image view' - The image you uploaded does not show in the window where the covers are supposed to show. There is the standard 'Sanitized for your protection' pic. Neither does it show in the comic info window on the right under the 'Main' tab and the 'Personal Tab'.

Actually, I think every edit you do does not show in 'Image view' - no personal notes or the marked 'signed' box, for example.

That doesn't make sense and it is not pretty when you just wanna browse your collected comics in cover mode. If there is an easy way to fix this, I would appreciate a hint very much. Else, a fix would be very nice.

I would like to add new comics to my catalog not only by search function but maybe if you provide for example a 'New releases this week' browse option, too. It's kind of handy knowing whats new and add stuff on the same run.

Was just adding this weeks haul and noticed that if I change a column width in the Inventory view that also changed the column width in the Folder view. I would be nice to have each view with it's own independent column sizes.

Thanks --Kenny
