With this coronavirus lockdown, I now have a lot of spare time on my hands. Since Sunday I have started watching a movie every night. Just to make things a bit more interesting, I've started playing Blu-ray tennis. I watched the Crow first, then followed that up with Strange Days. Michael Wincott was in both, though in the latter he seemed to be doing a Keith Richards impression with his accent. Come to think of it, he was maybe doing likewise in the Crow (with the bowl of coke). I digress; where to next? Could've gone with Angela Bassett and slipped in Boyz n the Hood next; but I followed Glenn Plummer to Showgirls (a guilty pleasure). As of finishing that, I plan to watch Bound because of Gina Gershon.

While we seem to have made it an entire 24 hours with no official sources confirming or denying anything involving the sale of the team and also no new sources saying anything at all unconfirmed I did good at the Redbox.

I have 3 movies from last year I want to see and although the new Batman is out of stock, I got the Top Gun movie and the last Jurassic Park on Blue Ray for $3.99 each which is only a little more than the rental fee would have been and I get to skip making a second trip walking back to Redbox to return rentals. Hopefully they're good enough to want to watch more than once. I heard good things about the Top Gun movie but the Jurassic Park one has the store swamped with Funko Pops and waffle makers themed to the movie not selling.

I have to say The Jurassic Movie was a bit disappointing. It felt forced and uneven, like it only existed to get all the cast from all the movies together, to force dinosaurs off the island into daily life everywhere, and to see how many dino's they could give screen time to hoping to sell merchandise. Maybe it'll grow on me with a couple rewatches. It looks like I should expect Funko dino Pops to be in stock for years to come trickling out at best.

For the 1st time in a long time I watched a movie and had nothing in it I really didn't enjoy. I wasn't sure how they'd get me excited about a sequel but they pulled it off. Top Gun Maverick was a winner. If I had any one bug thru the movie it was trying to figure out who Tom was flirting with. It was not Kelly McGillis from the original movie. I finally figured it out. Jennifer Connelly played Betty Ross but I haven't seen her since in anything I remember. Apparently she's now dated Maverick and the Hulk.

Pulled a double feature last night and also realized the wife from Godzilla 2014 was the Scarlet Witch. Sadly, it got me thinking there's no chance of a Godzilla/MCU crossover putting the Godzilla Marvel comic series from the 70's onto the big screen. At least the dream they finally put the 24 issue series out in an omnibus or two trades still lingers.
