I liked the Poltergeist movies. Those special effects were cutting edge back in the day.

The award for best use of cliche horror movie scenes and plot points goes to Joss Wheadon for Cabin in the Woods. Very entertaining and fun horror movie(i know horror isn't fun) i would highly recommend this movie.

A cheap Saw rip-off...

Something about a reality show...traps and 'wanna play a game' included.

I didnt finish it.

The Woman
Got round to watching this on Netflix a couple of days ago. Pretty nasty through and through. The slacker-toned soundtrack threw me at first, but I shoulda expected as much from the last Lucky McKee thing I saw in Masters of Horror. It even had the same lead actress in this. I couldn't decide if the main guy looked more like Will Ferrell or John C. Reilly though. Not one for weak stomachs or liberal views.

My dad just got "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie". He tells me that it's quite good and I need to get my butt over to his house to see it. I'm pretty excited, because I'm a big zombie-movie nut.

Has anyone else seen this one? Am I in for a treat? Or is it bad? My dad does have a liking for super-cheese movies, sometimes.

Watched "Cabin in the Woods" the other day...didn't really care for it. There were a few good moments, but overall, kinda meh.

Watched the remake of Evil Dead on the weekend. I enjoyed it. Thought it was one of the better horror remakes in a long time.

The other night I watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning with my nephew. Forgot I had it.

I thought Cabin in the Woods was fun too. The story was good and I find it funny that the stoner is the only one to figure everything out. Laughing

Deadly Blessing on Netflix.

Thought I'd seen all the early Wes Craven movies, but this one had slipped by me. Was in parts, creepy, melodramatic and ridiculous. I was slightly peeved that it wasn't in full widescreen, but soon settled back into that 80's video vibe. Very interesting cast for genre fiends like myself -
Maren Jensen (Athena, in the 70's Battlestar Galactica), Jeff East (teenage Clark Kent, in Superman the Movie), fresh-faced Lisa Hartman and Sharon Stone, plus Ernie Borgnine!

In the style of the great Joe Bob Briggs, I'd rate it:

Beasts: 3
Breasts: 2 (and they weren't even Sharon Stone's)
Blood: Not a lot.

Enjoyable, if you are in the mood for cheesy early 80's "horror".
