wow i applaud the owner of this site for sticking this topic and here i thought i was going to bump it. I bought from comicsupply.com and am hoping i am not ripped off, yet sadly it looks like i have. How sad not just for me or the possibly hundreds of people who must have been ripped off by this site/ guy/family but for them as well to have the site,and services to make a living and instead maybe using it to rip people off. to take a hobby that is meant to be fun and instead to turn it into a nightmare for some.

maybe it would do no good or may cause problems for this site but has anyone sent this guy the link to this topic as a heads up or a warning to this guy? or would it just be a waste of time?

I hope with this topic being sticky this guy turns it around or if not at least through this site,topic and word of mouth we will see the end of his site. I am thinking of filing a bbb report even if it does not work at least his site will be on thiers or have many already reported him? Anyone know what town or city he is based in?

How did you catch that, he just joined today 9/2/09.

He was logged on visiting the Sellers Corner. I clicked the link that leads to the profile and looked and sure enough the name field said "Russel Altomare".

I've been ordering from ComicSupply since Oct. 2007, the last order I placed was June 1st of this year. I couldn't take the extremely late shipments anymore and the lack of communication.

Now here it is Oct 6th and I have not received my books for June and July plus some other books I've never received going back a year or so. I've sent numerous e-mails to Russ asking when my books will ship and the only response I got was over 2 weeks ago which simply said "maybe a refund would be easier for you".

So here I am with no books, no refund, and no reponse.

man i googled this guys name and a TON of negative stuff pooped up. he's kinda scred himself. i for one wont waste my time or money on him

Um no. I've sent half a dozen emails since the whole thing went down and he hasn't ever responded. This was nearly 2 years ago now. I'm still bitter though. hehe

OUCH that sucks EE, He hasn't tried to contact you or anything? I see not, Man can't you do anything legally? IE contact cops or something?

It would have cost me more to get those book out of him that they were worth unfortunately. I've submitted a report to the BBB and just let people know to steer clear of his business when I can. It's about the best I can hope for.

I'm much more careful now. When buying online always use a credit card you trust. If I could turn back the clock I would have filed a claim with my CC and and the charges reversed.

I really wish I had run across this earlier, $140 worth of mylites and backers ordered and four months later nothing to show except excuses. I never would have supported this guy if I had read his responses to his customers on the other threads.

Comicsupply/Russ is a piece of work,Danger Will Robinson Danger.He was ousted from the CGC boards for awhile,he was run out of town there for the same type of behavior.He gives you the "I dont need you bit",best advice run him out of the boards here.Maybe there should be a thread to put buyers and sellers on a probation list if they do not fulfill their obligations.Even have a kudos section for good transactions too,Have them stickied so people can see everytime when they decide to make a purchase.

2 weeks later, I received my package in the mail, only 5 months late! He did throw in an extra package of mylites and backers, but I believe I never would have received anything if I had not reported him to these organizations. What do you think about a probation thread/Kudos thread?

I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it, he isn't selling on CCL though is he? Are you thinking a pre-emptive probation listing?

I know he's already a member here but I have no way to tell if he's got a store open. I would hope that Joe would take appropriate action against him if he decides to open one up here.
