Three days after Action Comics #1 sold for less. Guess we have a new number one valuable on the block.

That's incredible that someone has that much money to spend on a comic book.

Hey man, there are crazy rich people out there. On ESPN they said Tiger Woods makes $150 million a year. That sounds like a lot, but if you say $411,000 a day it really puts it into perspective. He could buy a Detective 27 twice a week and still have 45 million at the end of the year. I know it's hard to live on only 45 million these days, but he would manage.

Yep definitely agree. Bats is so much better than supes. He is human so not near invincible so he is so much more realistic and I think people can relate to him more. As for that comic... just wow!

I agree that Batman makes for a better read than Superman, but insofar as representing the iconic post-WWII superhero, SM has done more for America and the comic-book industry as a whole. I also wonder if the fact that SM launched his own title as #1, rather than later in the series as BM did with DC #27 had something to do with it.

Well, apparently not since BM sold for a higher value. On the other hand, it doesn't show that one comic is WORTH more, what we have here is a comicbook that SOLD better; there is a difference.

I believe the actual winning bid on DC #27 was $900,000. With various parties receiving their commission the total sale price was $1,000,075.
The winning bid for Action #1 was a straight $1,000,000. No commission was paid.
These two comics along with Marvel Comics #1 will probably always trade places at the top of the value list.
Most important? Action #1. I'd prefer Detective #27 personally but Action Comics was the first.

Shop at My Store
I sold a 35-cent Amazing Spider-Man variant on ebay once for $180. I thought that was pretty sweet Straight Face .
