I'm going to steal from scaryhead who wanted to know the best Superman Stories, so I wanted to hear some other views on the best Batman Stories.

For me...I would top the list with "Hush" and "Hush Returns" Both story lines were exciting and fun. "Knightfall" would also have to be in the list.

What's your opinion?

HUSH. my all time fav story.

The Dark Knight Returns- Frank Miller is just amazing in this book.

Knight Fall- Batman goes through hell, and gets reborn. Loved this story so much its logo was my first tattoo.

Year One- Frank Miller strikes again.

The Long Halloween- Jeph Loeb. Tim Sale. Legendary

Dark Victory- sequle to The Long Halloween.

Paul Dini's run on Detective Comics- Its the guy who wrote the better episodes of the animated series on the comic book. Its Batman done right!!

Killing Joke- More of a Joker story, but my 2nd fav of all time. Alan Moore is god.

I've only recently began really appreciating Batman. I still despise Robin though. Because of that I haven't read much, but here's what I have liked (don't laugh):

-Batman: The Vampire story from the early 80s.
-Batman: Year One
-Batman: The Killing Joke
-Batman: Sword of Azrael
-Batman: Knightfall
-Batman: Knightquest & Knight's End
-Batman: War on Crime
-Cosmic Odyssey
-JLA: Tower of Babel
-JLA: New World Order (White Martians)
-JLA: Incarnations

By Far I would have to say that the Killing Joke followed by The Dark Knight Returns tie for my favorite.

Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight - Venom

The story of Batman becoming addicted to Venom and then having to kick his addiction. Good Read!

I haven't read a ton of Batman, but from what I have read:

1.) The Killing Joke

2.) The Long Halloween

3.) The Dark Knight Returns.

Am I the only one who thought that The Dark Knight Strikes Again was awful?

I alsoe really liked the Venom story from Legends. In addition I really like year 1, Dark Knight Returns ofcourse, Death in the Family, and I am really digging All Star Batman and Robin by Miller and Lee. So far it is just such a great reimagining of not only batman but all the big names in the DCU. Chomping at the bit for the next issue.

It sucks pretty bad. But I loved the part with the Atom, where you think hes stranded on some weird island.

I never really liked reading Batman untill Hush came along. I couln't understand how the guy got so many comics. I also couldn't understand how Batman the ultimate non team player ended up in so many teams. The Hush storyline is so cool. I like Hush now as much as any super hero -I am collecting the DC direct figures now as well. I think DC could cut down on the amount of comics Batman appears in though. It is kind of ridiculous.
