HISTORY:

Al Simmons is an impressive and highly decorated officer of the Marines. Eventually joining the Secret Service, he saved the President from an assasination which earned him a promotion to the CIA. He became part of a division of the CIA called the U.S. High Security Group, tasked with foreign and domestic affairs. Simmons clashed many times with his director Jason Wynn. Al felt that Wynn was sacrificing too many innocent civillians. Wynn, upset over his employees views hired an assassin Chapel (later Jessica Priest) to kill Simmons. After the hit Al was sent to Hell for his killings in the CIA. Here he made a deal with the demon Malebolgia to see his wife Wanda one more time. The only condition was Al had to become a liutenent in Hell's army. Al agrees and is given a symbiotic necroplasmic suit becoming Spawn.
