Hey guys! Normally, I post here with any CCL news, comments or just a mere daily "hello" but today, it's time to start talking about our yearly
CCL MARATHON FUNDRAISER.For those who came in late....allow me to paint a picture for you:
Every year for the last 6 years, I approach the CCL membership in order to request funds to purchase items on the wish list for VANDERBILT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL here in Tennessee. My youngest son Jace was born with Down's Syndrome and required heart surgery when he was just a couple weeks old. The folks at this hospital were amazing and today, thanks to the grace of God and this hospital, my son made it through that.
So I approach the membership of CCL every year at this time in order to request monetary donations in order to purchase things the hospital needs: not just toys and games...but electronics, crafts, educational items and things to keep the children and families in the hospital engaged and happy during what are probably very stressful times in their lives. A couple years ago, I started reaching out to coworkers and personal friends as well in order to make this thing even more successful in CCL's name. Then once we reach the end of our timeframe, I take the donated money and buy the requested items and deliver it personally to the hospital.
Since we started this, we have raised over $5000 to buy stuff for Vanderbilt. It's been an amazing journey so far, and I'm sure this year will be no different.
So here's how this works and how you can be a part:
From now until NOON ON DECEMBER 15th, 2014, please send monetary donations in ANY amount via PAYPAL to:
CCL4KIDS@MIDTENMEDIA.COM. Again, 100% of your donation will go to purchase items on
Vanderbilt Children's Hospital's Holiday Wish List.
You can also mail in donations of money or items from the wish list to our offices at:
131 Sanders Ferry Rd
Suite 201
Hendersonville, TN
37075If you decide to go this route, please try to send in by the deadline of
December 15th at noon. Items must be new and not used due to the potential spread of infection because it's a hospital environment.
Our goal this year is the mightiest one yet:
$2000. We also have 12 days to get to this goal, which is one of the shortest amounts of time we have had in recent years.
Over the course of the next week, I will continue to bump this post with updates and pictures of how things are proceeding, so I encourage you to help out...even if it's just by posting words of encouragement for what we're trying to do...that helps too. Just...not as much as the donation ;)
Comic Collector Live is an amazing community and it's been an honor to lead this charge by YOUR request every year. I've had lots of people message me already to let me know how excited they are this year and are ready to contribute. We hope you'll join in and help us hit this goal.
Thanks and God Bless! LET'S GO!!!
