Hmmm, I'll have to look at some books I hate because when I hate one, I forget about the artist and/or writer.

Howard Chaykin (the only work he did that I liked was Scorpio w/ Nick Fury and Wolverine)
Rob L.
Sam Keith
Greg Land (I'm not against using photo ref but if you're gonna do it be good at it like Norman Rockwell was)

Some of mine are the same as others on here
Howard Chaykin being the worst in my book.I won't even buy a book if he is the artist I don't care what book it is.It could even be the death of Spider-Man and I wouldn't buy it.
Some other I really dislike.
JRJR
Humberto Ramos and all others that draw in the same style
Bachelo
Sam Keith
Jim Valentino
Crain (his works isn't bad it's just too dang dark to make out what is happening)
Erik Larson (his work used to be good but now it is so lazy that it is sad to look at.)

Other artists I couldn't stand when they first started but their style has evolved and gotten better or jsut grew on me
Jae Lee
Kelley Jones

I've seen some Kirby that was downright atrocious, and he couldn't draw women to save his life, but I've still got to give the man props. The styles have changed in the last 50 years, and very few people today could use Kirby's style and succeed, but he's still classic.

Infantino and Byrne? Wow. Two of my favorites. Byrne's X-Men run is probably what got me started reading comics.

Hate Liefield. Hated Larson's run on Spider-Man (he ruined Venom for me). Most all of the original Image boys, except Jim Lee and the occassional McFarlane piece.

And whomever drew the Gauntlet storyline recently for Amazing Spider-Man should NOT be drawing comics.

Theonly ones that immediately pop into my head are Liefield (DUH), and Lenil Yu.

Chaykin depends on when we're tlaking about. His stuff in the 80's was much different that his more recent stuff. Better IMO. But that was when there was still a "Marvel Way" of drawing, and not just whatever you feel like at the moment.

It's amazing how many people said Rob Liefield, because when I read the header he was the first to pop into my mind.

I'm kind of tired right now and it's getting hard to think. I tend to not read comics that I don't care for the art, but a good enough writer can be a big help in overcoming this.

Anyways, getting back to the subject! Way back in the 80's, when I used to read Uncanny X-Men, they went through quite a few artists that I didn't particularly care for. Two of them specifically were Brett Blevins and Marc Silvestri. I honestly don't know how Blevins got into the industry with his near complete lack of talent. I've seen some of Silvestri's more recent stuff, and have to admit that he has gotten better, but back in the day he was pretty awful.

Most of my friends could never stand Bill Sienkiewicz, and I can see why. I have seen some of his stuff, though, (Uncanny 159) that shows he does actually have talent. Why he chooses to draw like he does in most of his work is beyond me!

Hands down it has to be Bill Sienkiewicz. I would rather read a book drawn by a 5 year old holding the pen in his toes. In fact maybe thats how he gets those lines. He single handedly destroyed New Mutants despite really good writing.

Rob Leifeld. His art AND his attitudes towards fans are atrocious.

The way artists interact towards fans is another sticking point for me. A disappointment for me was Bob Layton. He's been at my last 2 major cons and he appears to have been snobby and standoffish to fans at both. I think he's let his involvement with IRON MAN go to his head.

You have to draw and have people skills, folks.

I was totally into Punisher War Journal until Howard Chaykin took over and then I was done. He's AWFUL! His art makes me want to cry it's so bad.

Lenil Yu almost made me drop New Avengers and Secret Invasion.

I used to love J Scott Campbell (early gen 13 and Danger Girl), but then he changed his style and sucked. I saw something from him recently and he was better, but for a long time I passed on his work.

Sometimes I don't like Jim Lee. All his guys look the same and have the same stubble. Plus his women don't really do it for me most of the time.

Reading Secret Invasion was so painful to the eyes. I think I started to go blind. Thank God it ended when it did.

How can anyone hate John Byrne's art???? His work on Fantastic Four, Superman, Avengers, & Avengers West Coast inspired me to draw.
